after the ctv show – personal thoughts

george here …

I watched the show with my folks tonight and a couple of friends Peter who did the chinese calligraphy on my new CD and his friend Dawn. I poured champagne – we toasted and chairman george came on. I was excited and anticipating but not certain how the story would be portrayed. CTV presents Chairman George – is this for real ?!

Compelling and moving . My musician friend Gaston Bernard called from Montreal saying the star of the film was my grandmother ‘Kouki’ who is beautiful and told me the straight truth about family. I liked Dan’s narration, kept the story line clear. Weird seeing the commercials coming faster and faster towards the end. And not enuf of Greece ! What did you think ? … send me a message , what did u like or not like , were you bored, inspired … should there be Chairman George II ?

the CD will be available in June : George from Athens to Beijing
– on the DVD page.

Luv,
the chairman

    George
I enjoyed the show. The commercials leading up to the show peaked my interest in thinking “who is this guy?” Your tenacity is inspiring! I was disappointed when they decided not to have you sing at the ceremony. I hope this exposure to the public will open the door to get what you want in the future. The only way you will fail is if you quit, so just don’t quit! Looking forward to Chairman George II.
Best Regards from a new fan

Hi George, we watched the show on the Ontario CTV feed and then picked it up again 2 hours later on a CTV Alberta affiliate. We passed on seeing it a third time from the West Coast and instead tuned into Omni News in Mandarin and what does the show open with…Chairman Geogre!

    Wei ren min fu wu.

    Yassou George,
Mike and I watched the show last night. Really enjoyed it. What I most enjoyed about it was the honesty – your honesty. The other quality that stands out for me is intrigue – I am intrigued by the facination the Chinese people have with you and your music. The East meets West is very interesting. Finally, what really came across for me was your ability to engage through your personality and your music the Chinese people – the scene of you playing guitar and singing with the Chinese guitar player is delightful!

Don’t give up we want to find out what happens in Chairman George II! Your quest and the show must go on!

    George, a wonderful show.
I kept saying “I know this guy”
Eventually it clicked – about 20 years ago we were neighbours in Montreal. Regards to Rae and congratulations!

    Hello George,

I watched Chairman George with my daughter, who has just returned from six months in Beijing. We were both charmed and intrigued by it. (We also thought that you bear a distinct resemblance at times to Rowan Atkinson, but I suppose that’s another matter.)

We will be waiting anxiously for the next chapter.

    Hi George,

I only found out this evening that we are related. You are my second cousin. I am your grandfather’s brother’s grandson. Christos’ son. Are you confused? I am.

    George,

Great doc. I watched the whole thing and wanted more. Can’t wait to stuff rocks in my bathing suit next time I go swimming. See you at the shop.

    Take care,
